Meet Your Child's Healthcare Team

Doctors

Many hospital doctors will be caring for your child in addition to your regular pediatrician. These doctors may include hospital-based physicians, consultants, fellows and residents.

Psychiatric Consultation Services

Your child may have a consultation if the medical team needs assistance with diagnosis or treatment issues concerning your child’s emotional well-being. As a parent, if you desire a psychiatric assessment for your child, ask your physician, social worker or nurse manager to call 718-470-3500 to arrange this.

Nursing Staff

Your nurses are experienced clinical professionals who monitor your child’s condition and communicate with physicians and other caregivers to coordinate treatment. Every patient is assigned a nurse with primary responsibility for your child’s care. Patient Care Associates and Nursing Attendants work with the nurses to provide direct care for you and your child.

Case Managers Ext. 3183

The case manager is a registered nurse who assesses patient needs and works with physicians, nurses, insurance companies and healthcare agencies to coordinate your discharge planning needs.

Social Workers Ext. 3124

Pediatric social workers at CCMC are trained to do a comprehensive psychosocial assessment to understand the patient in the context of the family. Working with case managers, they ensure a safe and supportive discharge plan that will prepare the patient and family caregiver for the transition back home.

Patient Relations Coordinator Ext. 8477

The Patient Relations Coordinator is here to help you with compliments, complaints or concerns.

Dietitians

Registered Dietitians (RD) are available for consultation. These professionals will assist with meal planning, provide nutrition education for patients and their families, as well as work with the clinical team members to provide adequate nutritional care for our patients. Ask your nurse if you’d like to meet with an RD.

We Are Here to Serve You

If, at any time during your child’s stay, you have a question about who is caring for your child or you need help for any reason, please ask. Our staff members will find the right person to provide your child with the care he or she needs.
