Special Support to Prevent Emergencies

During your child’s stay, you have access to a special service called the Pediatric Response Team. You can call this service, and a critical-care team will check on your child and provide help before there is a life-threatening emergency.

When to Call Pediatric Response

We consider you to be a vital member of your child’s care team. Please notify the medical team on the unit if you notice a change in your child’s:

  • behavior or mental status (less active, irritable)
  • breathing
  • heart beat

If you are still concerned after an evaluation by the medical team, request the Pediatric Response Team.
